A CAST SKATEPARK WITH INTERCHANGEABLE TILES FOR DESIGN-LED FINGERBOARD BRAND PASTELLE
Taking inspiration from the original California backyard pools first skated by Dog Town in the mid-70s and Brutalist architecture, this cast Jesmonite pool attempts to bring the joy of fingerboarding on smooth vertical surfaces to places it hadn’t been before.
The body is cast using a self-manufactured mold in our London studio. Each tile carefully cast and sanded to fit the body for a smooth ride.

The designing, making and selling of these pools was a real test of the knowledge I had gained at John Green over the last three years.
I got a chance to put to practice my design process and hone in new skills, from card prototyping, surface modelling and machining, to international logistics, website building and everything in between.
Eternally grateful to John for the workshop space during the prototyping phase and everyone that used/purchased one of these.
The long carousel of images comprises the design process as well as some highlights making the subsequent editions, enjoy.
